Terms of Use & Waiver Agreement

Please read these Terms of Use (Terms) carefully before using our Comox Valley Newcomers’ Alumnae Association (CVNAA) website.

Your access to and use of the website http://www.cvnewcomersalumnae.com/ is subject to your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms. These Terms apply to all members and others who access or use the website. By accessing or using the website, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the Terms, you may not access the website.

Membership Application: If you wish to become a CVNAA member, we will ask you to supply certain information relevant to your application, including, without limitation, your name, address, payment details, etc.

Content: As a member, this website allows you to post information about yourself in the Member Profile area of the website. You handle the content of this section. It may be subject to removal if, in the executive’s view, it is not in keeping with the spirit of the CVNAA and the Association’s bylaws.

Termination: If you breach the terms, we may end or suspend access to our website immediately, without prior notice or liability. All provisions of the Terms which by their nature should survive termination shall survive termination, including, without limitation, ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability.

Cookies: The CVNAA may use cookies to collect information on how our site is used. Information is collected anonymously, and no personal information is gathered. You can set your web browser to deny cookies or remove them after you visit our site.

Links to Other Web Sites: Our website may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not owned or controlled by the Comox Valley Newcomers’ Alumnae Association. The CVNAA has no control over, and assumes no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites or services.

You acknowledge and agree that the CVNAA is not liable, directly or indirectly, for any damage or loss caused or alleged to be caused by or in connection with use of or reliance on any such content, goods, or services available on or through any such websites or services.

Changes: We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to change or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will try to provide at least 30 days’ notice prior to any new terms taking effect. It is at our sole discretion to determine what makes up a material change.

WAIVER AGREEMENT

I have read, understand, accept and agree to this agreement and release the COMOX VALLEY NEWCOMERS’ ALUMNAE ASSOCIATION (“CVNAA”) and its officers, executive members, organizers, volunteers and related parties from all legal responsibility for injury, damage, or loss that may occur in connection with my participation in any activity organized by the CVNAA. I recognize that the CVNAA is a volunteer organization whose purpose is to continue friendships and activities we enjoyed in the Comox Valley Newcomers’ Club.

I understand that my participation in CVNAA activities is conducted at my own risk. I am also aware that my participation in the activities may put me at an elevated risk of , including, without limitation, increased risks associated with the use of alcohol and the risk of contracting or being exposed to viruses, contagious diseases and/or other illnesses that may be present in the general population and/or in public spaces and that I nevertheless choose to participate in the activities and fully assume the risk of doing so.

I have read and agree to abide by the CVNAA Safety Plans and agree to follow the direction of the event convener.

I understand that if I bring a partner or friend to one of the CVNAA events that are open to guests, that I must advise my guest that they will be expected to sign the CVNAA Guest Waiver Agreement, upon their arrival at the event in order to attend.

I understand and consent to CVNAA retaining information related to this Waiver Agreement for a period of up to three (3) years after signing notwithstanding CVNAA’s Privacy Policy.

I hereby release CVNAA, its officers, executive members, organizers, volunteers and all others from all legal responsibility or liability for injury, damage, or loss of any kind that may occur in connection with my participation in any CNVAA activity, including those that may be caused by the negligent act or omission of any of the above-named individuals or others acting on their behalf.
